September 04, 2013 I have come to indentify several songs that, for the most part, represent some of my interests and passions. The music will be featured in videos with a description and my reasoning behind playing it. Although the video is a bit stereotypical of what people think of Africa (the white researcher with the lovely young assistant, some time decades past, doing research work in the middle of the "jungle"), the song itself is pretty cool. Having been to Uganda in 2008 and interacting with people from there, Kenya, and Tanzania, East Africa has a special place in my heart. I still believe it is the center of the Christian world. I hope to visit again for longer periods.
The next represents my love for my home state of Florida. Seminole Wind by John Anderson acts a rallying cry for conserving the resources in this state and remembering what has been lost. It can have a bit of a nostalgic feeling where what we see in the video is something we should some how strive to get back to. I don't think that is feasible. I think there are creative ways for welcoming people to Florida, but educating them on how best to live and preserve our ecosystem. There's just something about the diverse beauty of this state that sticks with me.
The next one confirms my inner geek as my interest and love for sci-fi has grown as I've come to understand the philosophical foundations of the genre. This video is a compilation of scenes from the various TV versions and movies of Star Trek set to the orchestral version of "Inner Light" by Jerry Goldsmith and Jay Chattaway. It is a beautifully composed piece. The episode by the same name in Star Trek: The Next Generation is considered one of the best in the series.
And Can It Be by Charles Wesley is one of my favorite hymns. Charles stuck a bit more closely to the Anglican Church, I believe, than his famous brother John, in terms of working through the means of the church, rather than independently of the church. He is underrated in church history, but more and more research is being done on his life and work. Plus, this video shows many peoples from many nations and the singing about the great salvation of God is very moving. Can you spot the Harry Potter and Arsenio Hall look-a-likes?

People says that music have different languages and nods but what I observed is it has only one language which belongs to feelings. If you go for identification of music so go to this site https://www.topdissertations.org/tips-to-help-you-write-your-dissertation/first to understand about it. What this picture is representing the same thing I have mention above that may you have different language but music has one. |
